“Snacking is bad” … Snacking is GOOD. Eating smaller meals throughout the day is beneficial for your digestive system and prevents binge eating later on.

“Avoid cards”… Not ALL carbs are bad. For instance, whole grains are a great source of fiber and will provide plenty of energy before exercising.

“Avoid fats”… We’ve been over this… Eat that fat! Of course, stay away from saturated fats, but your body loves those healthy fats!

“Eat low fat”… Many low fat foods are loaded with excess sugar and starch for flavor. Thus, leaving you wasting money and calories.

“Eating healthy is expensive”… Eating healthy CAN be expensive, however, they are many inexpensive options. Eating healthier now will also lessen those healthcare costs in the future.

“Drinking water helps burn calories”… Stay hydrated but drinking water should not be used as a weight loss strategy.

“Always choose the salad”… Getting your greens in is important, however, many salads are loaded with unhealthy toppings, cheeses, and fatty or sugary dressings.

“As long as you exercise, you can eat whatever you want”… You must burn more calories than you are taking in in order to lose weight. Eating an extra snack is fine but adding an extra meal or dessert may cause you more harm than help.

“Lifting weights will bulk me up, not make me slim down”… Actually building muscle will help you burn more calories. After weight work, the body continues to burn calories throughout the day.
