Columbia Area Events- Hot Summer’s Night 5K

If you are looking for something to do in Columbia area next weekend then try participating in the Hot Summer’s Night 5K Road Race & Youth Fun Run! The event will take place next Saturday, August 2nd. This is great for the family or for individuals because there are different races to participate in. There is a 5K (3.1 miles) you can walk or run and there is a youth fun run which would be perfect for the kids! If you are interested in this event there is more information below.
Name of Race: Hot Summer’s Night 5K & Youth Fun Run
Date and Time: Saturday, August 2nd, 2014 at 6:30pm for the Youth Fun Run and 7:00pm for the 5K Road Race
Location: Behind Hand Middle School at the corner of Woodrow and Duncan Streets
Events: 5K Road Race, ¼ Mile Youth Fun Run (non-competitive), ½ Mile Youth Fun Run (non-competitive)
Registration Deadline:
Online Registration is open through August 1st, 2014, register at www.strictlyrunning.com
Print application and apply through August 1st, 2014.
Registration Entry Fees:
Online Registration for 5k Run or Walk with a T-shirt- $30
Online Registration Youth Fun Run with a T-shirt- $15
Paper Registration 5K Run or Walk with a T-shirt- $35
Paper Registration Youth Fun Run with a T-shirt- $20
(T-shirts are not guaranteed)
Entry Fees are non-refundable. You can also register at the event on August 2nd as well. The 5k fee with a t-shirt is $35 and the youth fun run with a t-shirt is $20. As a bonus, there are prizes for the winners! Both the first male and female to finish in the Open Division will receive $100, Masters Division will receive $50, and Grand Masters Division will receive $50. Also if course time records are broken, the record breaker will receive $300! Currently the male course record is 14:29 and the female is 16:48.
