Labor Day Funk Run 5K
Posted on: August 22, 2014Categories: News & EventsIf you are close to Seneca or nearby in Greenville, the Labor Day Funk Run 5K may be just the activity you are looking for this Labor Day! This is an annual 5K race that will take place on September 1st, 2014 at Norton Thompson Park in Seneca, SC. The race will have funk music playing, and include fun themed cheer zones. It will begin at 8:00 am with awards following afterwards at 9:00 am. The first place male and female winners will receive $100 cash and every winner for each age group will receive a unique prize made out of vintage records. Also, the participant with the best costume will be awarded a prize. Following the 5K, there will be a Kid’s Funky Fun Run that will be a 1/4 mile race, free for all kids. Every child who participates will receive a prize. The proceeds for this fun race will help buy shoes for those people in low income families. The proceeds will go towards United Way, Our Daily Care Center, and South Carolina Regional Housing Authority.
