South Carolina State Fair

It’s that time of year again when you spot the bright flashing lights as you drive towards Williams Brice and the smell of fried food fills the air…the fair is back! The South Carolina State Fair officially kicked off this past Wednesday celebrating its 145th year with its annual 12 day fair during October! Also it has been named one of the Top 50 fairs in the US because of its success, activities, educational opportunities and entertainment. The South Carolina State fair is dedicated to educating SC’s young adults and even offers scholarships to all high school seniors. In fact, since 1997 it has returned over 3 million dollars to educate South Carolina’s youth. At the fair you can find several different buildings that show and teach people about horticulture, agriculture, livestock, home arts, and history of South Carolina. Outside these building you will find hundreds of fun rides, entertainment, competitions, food, recreation, and more! The fair also hosts several different performers and tickets for these entertainers also include entrance to the fair grounds. . Some acts this year include Jennifer Nettles (10/10), Lee Brice (10/11), Fred Hammod with Donnie McClurkin (10/12), Britt Nicole with Citizen Way (10/17), and MC Hammer (10/19). There is plenty to do and learn so head on down to the South Carolina State Fair and “Find Your Happy!”
